Re-use of confiscated assets from the organized crime for social enterprises
“C.A.U.S.E – Confiscated Assets Used for Social Experimentation” is a project implemented by Partners Albania in collaboration with the Agency for the Administration of the Sequestered and Confiscated Assets, and funded by the European Union. C.A.U.S.E is the first initiative of this nature implemented in Albania and in the Western Balkan region. It aims to establish a model of sustainable re-use of confiscated assets from organized crime by civil society organizations (CSOs).
As part of this project, three assets confiscated from organized crime are turned into social enterprises by Albanian NPOs.
KeBuono!, a social pastry established by “Engim” and “Qendra Sociale Murialdo” organizations, in Fier.
Kinfolk Coffee Library – established in Durrës, by the Albanian Education Foundation and the Civil Society Development Center in DurresSocial Initiative as a measure to prevent youth involvement in organized crime.
Social Crafting Garage in Saranda, established by the Institute of Migration Development and Integration.
