The Monitoring Matrix on Enabling Environment for Civil Society Development, Country Report for Albania presents the findings from the monitoring of practical and legal framework for the development of civil society.

Several important legal initiatives, part of Anti-Money Laundering / Combating Terrorist Financing (AML/CFT) package, including the new law “On the Registration of Non-Profit Organisations”, were prepared through a non-inclusive process, disregarded some important recommendations from civil society organizations, representing a restriction of freedom of association and operation of CSOs.
