Unemployment among young internal migrants in the municipality of Kamza

As part of RisiAlbania project, Partners Albania conducted the study Unemployment among Young Internal Migrants in the Municipality Of Kamza, to enhance understanding of young internal migrants’ unemployment, in particular women in the suburban area of Kamza, with the purpose to have a follow-up intervention for the inclusion of youngsters in the labor market.

One of the main determinants of unemployment has resulted in the lack of childcare services, which is a challenge faced not only in Kamza but nationwide. This has led to an initiative undertaken by Partners Albania as part of Risi Albania to introduce childcare services in the premises of private companies as an innovative collaboration between municipalities and businesses. This model aims to reduce employee turnover, absenteeism, and increase job satisfaction and motivation. On the other hand, it helps local government to fill the existing gap in the provision of childcare services. As a final result, it contributes to longterm employment of women in the labor market.
